Despite the rapid scientific and technological progress that has given for mankind a lot of synthetic materials, natural stone has not lost its importance in construction. On the contrary, modern stone processing technologies have increased the possibilities of using stone products in construction. In addition to rubble hidden under a layer of concrete, there are a lot of construction products made from natural stone:
Split stones are best suited for paving small areas, squares, narrow streets, park paths, adjacent areas. This is an indispensable material for paving areas with uneven surfaces (on the slope). If gives an aristocratic look in combination with the ancient architecture of buildings.
Sawn stones have all flat sides, which allows you to get the smoothest and most stable surface with minimal seams. This paving is convenient for creating patterns of the correct architectural form with clear straight lines. It can have different thicknesses and is universal for paving large and small areas, pedestrian areas and roads.
Sawn-split stones combine sawn and split surfaces. Available in 2 versions:
"pencil" - sawn sides + split top and bottom. It is advisable to use paving stones "pencil" for paving surfaces with heavy traffic, because natural stone is much stronger than asphalt or concrete. Sawn sides allow you to minimize seams and increase the durability of the coating.
"french" - sawn top and bottom + split sides. «French» paving stones preserve the ancient charm of streets and squares paved with split stones. At the same time, it has a smooth flat and non-slippery surface, which is especially important for pedestrians. Therefore, this type of paving is used mainly for pedestrian areas. An additional factor when choosing such paving is its lower price compared to completely sawn stones.
Stone plates are used for paving mostly large areas of flat shape, construction of stairs, as well as facing facades or plinths of houses, fences etc. Additional heat treatment is performed for paving horizontal surfaces in the open air with intense load, which significantly reduces slippage. Polishing gives a mirror look and shine and it is often used for stairs, window sills, kitchen surfaces etc. Plates with split front side "rock" give to walls an ancient charm and they are often used for facing of vertical surfaces.
Bordure – is an integral element in the arrangement of streets, sidewalks, paths, lawns. Can be further heat treated to reduce sliding on wet surfaces.
In addition to the traditional rectangular it can have a radial shape, which helps to create flexible lines of cascading transitions of surfaces.
